Have been quite busy with work just recently and thus the blogging (and running) have suffered.
I have finally got round to adding up the km log for Oct and the total was 132k, which is the smallest for the year. It was a successful month though, as I always wanted to back off for a month or two to give the body some rest. I did do a handful of bike sessions and swims which was really enjoyable. The month highlight was the Half PB which was a surprise considering the shape I was in.
I must say that I have quite a time dilemma on my hands at the moment which I believe will continue for some time. My work has really ramped up and is taking more time/energy, which means it is tough getting out regularly for a lunch time run which I have been doing all year. The weekend are also very busy with the new bub and all. Don't get me wrong, these are all good things but it doesn't allow for a whole lot of training, especially that I want to get more serious with the bike and the swim.
In my head the main goal of 2007 was to do a half ironman, with a few marathons at the start of the year (six foot and gold coast). I just don't know whether I will be able to find the time to train for the three disciplines. Maybe I should just stick with the running for a while???
Mmmm will ponder.....
Anyway, I should go for a run as the http://www.jpmorganchasecc.com/events.php?city_id=16 is coming up on Wednesday. ING looks to have a great team and will go close to winning it and therefore claiming the trip to NY. My aim is to be 6th or 7th and be 2nd or 3rd reserve - you never know what might happen, I may get that trip to NY if people pull out.
