A new Half PB

I lay in bed for a good 15 mins deceiding whether or not to go to the Striders Internal half this morning. It was raining and I was tired however I just got up and went, and I was glad I did as it stopped raining for the entire morning and I got a PB :).

The first 6k's were very sluggish, the legs were feeling heavy from the cycling and I thought it might be a tough day. On the way down from Ryde road, things started to get going and I found a nice rythm. I talked for some time with Gary? about ironmans etc (he has done 7) which was great. I kept up a good pace and the second time down the hill I felt even better than the first time around, clocking up some really consistent splits of just > 4:00. Ended up finishing in 92:28 which was very pleasing after the explosion at Homebush a few weeks ago where I only managed 44:26 when trying to break 40:00.

I think it just takes me a full month to recover from a marathon. I am really excited to break 90 mins soon.

It was good to finally meet Plu today. He was trying to convince me to enter Nepean Tri hoever I am just not sure. Will ponder this for a couple of days.

Just realised that this was my first official half since May last year and therefore a 12 min PB - not bad me thinks!

Splits were:

4.27
4.35
4.28
4.33
4.22 22.24
4.36
4.33
4.16
4.13
4.21 22.00
4.19
4.23
4.28
4.37
4.14 22.02
4.20
4.38
4.01
4.07
4.03 21.09
4.04
0.49 92:28

Well done, you certainly brought it home strong! I just had enough in the legs to get me there after going out pretty fast.
