I was aiming to get right back into training post sixfoot, but just didn't have it in me. I hardly ran for two weeks and had a good rest.
I ran a Striders 10k at Lane Cove last weekend. I didn't want to be there. It was cold and I was tired. The aim was to break 40 mins and have a piece of cake. I strted running and felt good coming home in sub 39 and a PB. Surprised to say the least.
A good way to start the build up to the next goal race - i.e. Gold Coast Marathon and an all out tilt at sub 3.
Last week was the first official week of GCM prep and included 5 runs - 9k, 14k, 14k, 9k and 10k for a total of 56k. Missed my long run because I was tired and disorganised. One of the sessions was 4 x 1k reps done in an average of 3:41 which was spot on.
