I haven't updated the blog since the marathon as I have been searching ofr time to fix my Garmin as it not allowing e to download to sportstracks. Therefore no stats etc.
A brief summary is that I ran a 3:03:46 and I was extremely pleased. In the end I decided not to go for a sub 3 and it was definitely the right decesion. 3:03 was definitely the quickest I could have gone on the day. Went through half way in 91:37 and came home in 92:07 which was very pleasing. The last 3-4's was tough. Very tough. But I managed to hold form and pace.
Next year I wil target the sub 3.
Bad news is that I thnk I have a stress fracture on thetop of the left foot. Exactkly the same as I had after Canberra marathon last year - except on the right. It cme good after 3-4 weeks of nearly no running - hopefully this one will take a week less (at least) as I have trailwalker booked in for Friday week. It is really tough as I don't want to let the team down.
I had 5 days off before trying it out last week, but as it was still sore I have had the past 11 days off running. Will give it another couple of days before crossing my fingers and trying once more time. I will then make a decesion whether to start looking for a replaement or not. Wish me luck!

Chris, congratulations again on the race!
Sorry to hear about the foot. My fingers are crossed for you!
3:03. Seriously fast! Hope the foot heals in time, but if it doesn't then there's always the next thing :-)
Best of luck for the foot recovery mate. That's the trouble with Trailwalker I suppose isn't it. Hope it all works out for you and the other guys
But brilliant result with the marathon Chris. That's a sensational time mate :)
