Trailwalker = DNS

With much nerves, I laced up the runners after 2 weeks of no running to test the self diagnosed stress fracture of the foot. For the 1st 2k it was wonderful and then suddenly I felt a slight soreness that got a little worse. Optimistically I thought I would keep running and hope it would get no worse, but it did. On the postive side it has greatly improved and is not really that uncomfortable to run with, however, trying to run 100k on it will be asking for trouble.

So I am out. A quick ring round, got a replacemet in Innes which is great. The team should do really well. I will now take up crewing duties, which still should be a bit of fun.

I took my frustration out on the bike doing numerous short sessions for a total of 120k for the week + 8k running. On one hand, I am starting to think about some triathlon goals for the summer, but on the other hand I think it is a stupid, time sucking idea and that I should just stick to running.

I will follow the heart and see where that leads me.

Sorry to hear about the foot Chris but you made the right decision.

Be careful following your heart; you never know just where it might lead you ;-P
