And I am s%$^ing myself.
Training has been far from ideal. Work has been C R A Z Y.
The week after Narrabeen 50k was out of control. Lots of late nights. It all caught up to me on my long run on the Sunday morning. Died at 5k and walked/jogged home - simply exhausted.
The following week wasn't much better, but I kept the legs turning over. More late nights at work. Finally I got away and headed down to Eden which is fast becoming a yearly excursion. I did 10k on the Thursday evening up through the first few k's of the C2K course through the bush (the only few k's I had not previously seen). Some of the biggest hills happen in that first few k's!
Saturday came and the throat started to get sore. Before long, it was really sore and I was sleeping in the back of sub50's Subaru. I was secretly planning to get a good 60-80k run in with Spud through the night/early morning, however it was raining and I did a lot of sleeping instead.
Spud was amazing as always and just keeps plodding along happily all day and night. A pleasure to crew for. Whilst the weather was completly crap, it was a little more interesting this year with a few more runners around. I don't think a sub 30 is out of the question if things go right for Spud in coming years.
The throat came good on Sunday morning urprisingly and I had a quick run around Jindy before a big cooked breakfast. Monday was a right off as I was falling asleep at my desk. Time to get going i said to myself, and I set the goal for 12 days running in a row. I had to cram for B2H if I am going to have any chance to make the cutoff.
Ran well last week - 80k. Legs feel like they are glowing. I was hoping I could get to the mountains for a long run with the hornet but coudn't get away.
I will continue to run each day and do 1 final long run on boxing day before pulling it back a little. At least I have something to taper from.
That will be 6 long runs in the last 6 weeks including a 50k. I have also ran 17 of the last 22 days. Not as much a I was hoping for, but I am crossing my finers that it will get me through.
I feel like I haven't thought about it to much. Logistics etc. Will have to get my act together over Xmas and do some planning.
Aaarrrrrhhhhh!

I don't blame you for not running with Spud. Sounds like it was a tad wet and windy.
Good luck with the last minute training and taper. It'll be interesting to see how it all comes together.
don't worry, you'll be fine. Its a cliche, but its better to be under-done than over-done. Kinda like the Christmas turkey. :)
