Sleeping in...

Mon: Cahill run - 10k in 47:55 @ 4:45 (155)

Tues: Rest

Wed: Corp Cup - based on some of my running lately I was looking for a PB today but it didn't feel great from the 1st km. Pushed hard for a 24:10 @ 4:03 (182) Not too bad, but still disappointed.

Thur: 14k run to work in 73:28 @ 5:09 (151) which is a record for the run to work at a low HR. Really good run which really surprised me.

Fri: Massage with easy Tiger at lunch before being picked up by Mrs Hamburglar to head out to Springwood for a weekend away for our wedding anniversary. We arrived at about 3:30pm which allowed me to sneak a quick 9k in, checking out a couple of lookout's around the place. 9k in 48:30 @ 5:23 (151).

Sat: 13 hours of sleep, rising at noon - aaaaaaahhhhhh! After doing some research, I headed out on a bush run. The plan was to head down over Martin's lookout and follow the creek to Faulconbridge and then run home. The track was quite overgrown and hard to follow at times, so there was a fair bit of walking. It was a beautiful trail however I always felt a little nervous as I was by myself, there was no other walkers on the track, the track wasn't clear (and the marking weren't helpful) and I didn't know where I was going. At one point a clear track seemed to just come to a dead end and I needed to backtrack. It was around 4pm, getting cold and I was a long way from civilisation when I found the right track and away I went - phew! The 305 ran out of batteries, however I probably covered about 20k in 2:45. A tough run. My legs have scratches all over them. I was glad to get home, just as the sun was going down. A couple of bush running lessons were learnt.

Sun: another sleep in, this time till 9:30pm. I sneaked a Shelley Beach run late in the day after we got back in 47:05 @ 4:42 (155).

The running seems to be going really well lately and my cruising speed seems to have consistently stepped up to well below 5:00 pace which is really encouraging.

All up 71k for the week

Cool! I was going to head out to Martins Lookout yesterday but decided to start my recovery week earlier. How was the climb down from the lookout to the creek?

Mate nothing says romance like a few trail runs ;-). Happy to hear you are on the up and up - you will fast point this week, it is my sole purpose in running on Wednesday to see that happen.

Chris, could you please apologise to your beloved on behalf of all us runners. It wasn't *our* suggestion that you disappear for hours at a time on your romantic weekend away... (Sheesh! You like to live dangerously! :-)
