After the success of last week's run's, I was feeling pretty good about myself - getting back into running is exciting! I headed out for a run on Monday and told myself that I should be wise and build up over the next few weeks with some easy runs, but I just wanted to run fast. I picked up the pace for a threshold session of 15 mins - felt a bit sluggish but good. Total of 8k in 37:30 @ 4:41 (164).
Rode into work on Tuesday morning 30k in 1:20 @ 21.9 (147).
Corporate Cup yesterday and I was nervous! It is such a hard run and I knew I would suffer. The first 3k was ordinary and then I came good and started to feel quite strong. With all the cycling I have been doing I must be pretty fit, but just not running fit. Finished off in a pleasing 24:45. A lot faster than my March corp cup runs and only 1 min off the PB - couldn't be happier!
Rode home that evening - 15k in 41:16 @ 20.9 (155).
This morning I ran to work for the first time. Work is busier than ever and I have to be smart to fit some running into the schedule. I got a bit lost at a couple of points, but the k's kept ticking over. I think I was still asleep for most of the run. Finished up the 14k in 1:20 @ 5:32 (153). Really happy with the run and I will definitely be doing this more often.
As much as I like cycling, I do love running. Just feels so good to be back. I am one happy camper.

Welcome back fromt he wilderness my friend. A nice run at CC also!
We should tee up a run to work - it's a decent session if you add a little loop down the Cahill and throught e Gardens
That's good to hear. Sounds like at heart you're a runner :)
Nice times - those PBs are still possible later in the year.
By the way, that "non swimming" triathlete was Kirra Rankin.
