Easter at the farm

Headed down to the farm on Thursday night. We travel at night these days so that Cheeseburger sleeps in the car. I did my best to stay away from the heavy work ad try to have a bit of down time which was nice. Got a run in each day which was a bonus, usually I am so tired I just don't bother. The highlight was the run back home from Holbrook after church on Sunday. My two sister-in-laws joined me for the 19k run and I was pleasantly surprised by the pace. It is a pretty straight road the whole way, so it was good to have some company. It hasn't rained in months, but woudn't you know it, we got drenched. Maybe our running was a rain dance.

The week's summary:

Mon - 10k in 53:15 @5:16 (154) - Anzac Bridge
Tues - Rest
Wed - 6k in 25:30 @ 4:13 - total 8k - Corporate cup
Thur - 8k in 40:47 @ 5:05 (157) - Opera House
Fri - 12k in 65:20 @ 5:18 (157) - Billabong creek
Sat - 7k in 41:55 @ 6:15 (134) - Up the lane
Sun - 19k in 1:47 @ 5:46 (140) - Home from Holbrook

Total of 64k and I am happy with that just a week after sixfoot.

Back at home today and I headed down the road to do some intervals. About 200m from my house is a park with a cycling track around it that measures about 660m. The session was 4 x 1k repeats with 100 second jogging recovery. After Wednesday, I knew that I should back off my pace a bit in order to get through the session. I wouldv'e been happy with anything < 4:00 for each rep. I was a little surprised with the results:

3:50 (171)
3:52 (174)
3:46 (176) and
3:47 (178)

Great session, felt great, all up 13 laps for 9k.

Fantastic week of training Chris, particularly so soon after Six Foot. Sounds like your return to full fitness is on track !

They look too happy to be running at a 'surprising' pace!

Thanks for the rain dance - we got some in Wagga on Easter Monday - sure need it.
