As the goal of racing six foot has well and truely gone, I have started to think about the rest of the year and what my goals should be. I have been in two camps:
Camp 1 = train whenever and however I feel like in a non-structured way and race alot without necessarily targetting a race, tapering properly etc.
Camp 2 = A la Ewen, chose one (or maybe two) main races for the year and structure my training properly to maximise the performances at each race.
Needless to say, these two camps are very different. 2006 was very much camp 2 (structuring my training around Canberra and Sydney marathons) and 2007 saw myself tending toward Camp 1 with a little bit of structure throughout the year.
I have decided to jump back into Camp 2 with my two goals for 2008 being Cities marathon on 27 July and Port Macquarie Half Ironman on 9 November. I have some stretch goals in mind, but will sit on them until I am sure they are realistic, achievable etc.

Come on Chris, if they're realistic and achievable then they're not stretch goals! Out with them sir! :-)
Hope you start to feel stronger soon.

Yes, I'm curious too!
I was in Camp 1 for many years. It's fun, and if you stuff-up, there's always another event.
Camp 2 would be satisfying if you achieve the goals. At least with my goal, I get to do lots of races, even if they're all short.
