Running again

After all the cycling and swimming of the last 6 months, it is good to get back to my first solid week of running. The tri training has done wonders for my running motivation - I really can't wait to get out there each day. And it isn't like I have been injured for six months so I feel like it won't take too long before I get back to where I was in terms of running fitness.

It is funny though, I already miss the cycling and swimming, but it just seems a waste of time if I can only get out there for 1-2 sessions a week for each discipline. We'll see how we go. I definitely won't shelve them totally.

Mon - 5k in 22:49 @ 4:59 (155)
Tues - 34k in 4:19 @ 7:34 (155)
Wed - rest
Thu - 10k in 51:58 @ 5:15 (157)
Fri - 14k in 74:22 @ 5:18 (157)
Sat - 7k in 34:46 @ 4:56 (159)
Sun 2ok in 1:52 @ 5:39 (156)

Today's run was really tough after a big week. I think my legs are in shock. It was really hot and humid. went up through Seaforth and North Head, through Queenscliff and back home.

Glad to get 90k for the week with only 9 weeks till sixfoot!

Nice work Chris.

Are you deliberately running based on heart rates? I've never tried that before but often thought about doing it..

Mate you're a machine - you are going to smash 6ft - 4:45 should be your goal

jen runs - don't get Chris started preaching about low heart rate training, he is the poster boy for that training method ;)

Good to see you back from the dark side Chris. Nothing like the specificity of running to make you a good runner :)

Re the heart-rates. Interesting that 155 is about my racing HR. Used to be 170 in the good old days. Low HR for me is under 125.
