Being in a fragile state after Cities, I picked up a stomach bug from Adam on Tuesday. Never been so sick in all my life and I don't think I have taken this many sick days in all of my career! I slept 31 out of 36 hours. As quick as it came though, it went again, and I was surprisingly feeling fresher than ever. The two days in bed obviously ageed with my marathon weary legs.
Went for a run on Friday and the legs felt good however the blister that caused my problems in he marathon, again gave me trouble. It is now quite big and Ayers rock looking. I will have to look up blister treatment on the web/coolrunning.
The blister does allow for pain free cycling, so that's what I have been doing. 20k on Sat and 25k on Sunday. Thought I would keep the rides short and regular so that the body remebers what it is like to ride. The body pulled up OK with only moderately sore shoulders, neck and backside.
Seeing as I am on a long weekend (bank holiday) I might even go for a swim (god help me) later on.
