Seems like I have turned the corner with the injury and sickness with a good, but not too strenuous weekend training.
Yesterday was a 40k cycle to Church Point in 1:28. I was really happy with the ride as it was the first time I have averaged over 27k for a longer ride and with the heart rate well under control - yay! We were into the wind on the way out and on the way back we averaged nearly 30k/hr. Whilst I seem to only manage one ride a week, yesterday's ride as well as last week's, seem to indicate that I am still improving anyway!
This morning was an easy 10k and the knee soreness was non existent. Now the problem is everything else in the legs. Because I think I have been running with a slight limp and compensating for the weak point, I seem to have a few niggles in muscles around the knee and also the right leg. I will have to go and see the Tiger for a massage.
Will continue to test the waters this week and see how it goes. I am crossing the fingers that I haven't lost too much fitness and can still have a shot at sub 40 in 3 weeks!
Great to see Uncle Dave get the sub 2:30 at Canberra. Still waiting for some reports to come through and see how everyone else went. It was disappointing to not be down there however it was a good weekend with the family. I think they are getting used to me being around more on the weekends. With the two week taper before six foot and 5 weeks of reduced training, they have seen me more in the last two months, than the 6 months before that!

Another good training ride for IM 2008 :-)
Hope you've had another good week since this post and you're well on track for SMH. Thanks for your advice and encouragement in the lead up to Canberra, it's very much appreciated. I had a great time down there.
