Half Ironman here I come!

OK, second post in one day.

Whilst a half Ironman has been on the blog as a 2007 goal for a while now, I had kind of forgotten about it because I didn't think it would happen. I didn't think it would happen because I thought I wouldn't get enough time to put the training in with work/family etc.

I have been thinking about it and I think I will give it a crack!

I will be far from prepared as I will want to be, however what the heck. The prep and the race should be fun if nothing else. I could do either Canberra or Port Maquarie, however I think I will do Port. And with the change in qualifying, if I do a half, I qualify for the full... Just Joking!

There I have said it out loud and I feel better for it.

sorry mate - I left a reponse here and it disappeared into the ether ...

Hey, you have heaps of time to prepare for these races, and you're already riding and swimming and have a fanatstic running base. You'll do fine - just need to step up the bike kms over winter as the No.1 priority. You only need to build up to a long ride of 80-90km by September give or take, so you have ages to get there.

Canberra is a GREAT race - very, very hilly bike course (makes Port look flat) but lots of fun too. I'll be there with you for both of them! We could even start looking into getting some share accommodation at Canberra in December !
