IronCove STAR this morning. It was forecast to be a really hot one but didn't turn out that way. It was warm but not uncomfortable. This is one of the flatter STARS in the rotation which may explain why the pace started to increase as the run progressed. Probably against my better judgement I also lifted the pace and kept up with the group. I was feeling good, so why not. The heart rate did rise significantly toward the end and the last couple of k's were tough.
Total time for the 29k was 2:26 which is 5:06 pace, however we started pretty slow so I guess the last 15k was at 4:50 pace, which would explain my average heart rate of 165.
The reference to the smell was approaching apx. 40 striders eating and drinking after their runs - it must have been hotter than I thought!
Good to catch up with Spud and meet Virtual.
That means the week had a total of 70k with no cycling. Solid week but nothing too special. Looking forward to my break. Have I already mentioned that?
