41:32 today which is a 67 sec PB .
I thought I had lost my Mojo from Canberra and was just running to see where I was at. The first few k's were really hard and the HR was really high. At about the 5 k mark when I was expecting to fade, I started to feel strong and kept going, finishing the last couple of k's really well.
Looking at the stats from the 305 I actually did a negative split of 21.09 and 20.24 which are/were both 5k PB's. Not often you have 3 PB's in one race. Will have to get out and have real crack at the 5k PB at the next 5k coolrunning challenge! (note: find out when this is).
It is interesting that I ran so strongly today after feeling quite bad the last three week. I also notice that Minersrun also ran well after ironman a month ago. Maybe all the training for the Marathon, the Marathon itself and then 3 easy weeks puts the body in good shape. Gives me some hope of running well at SMH half - goals for this would now be to break 95 mins and maybe 94 or 93 - fingers crossed.
Other highlights was seeing inhisshadow racing his first 10k race in 45:38, Caty having a solid run 46:03 and Blue Dog pacing Rachael home for a PB of 49:57. Had a great birthday breakfast at the bower with a quick swim afterwards.
