I have lost my Mojo!

I have lost my mojo since Canberra and it has been over three weeks!

It definitely isn't mental though, because after such a good run in Canberra, I have been itching to get back into the training and race well at Sydney Half. The legs have just not allowed it to happen.

I have been running easy 5-10k's every 2-3 days since Canberra and I just can't get the omff back into the legs. A few times, I have had in mind to do 12-14k runs, only to turn back as the legs felt heavy and just not right.I guess we will just have to be patient.

The last few days have been a little better so I am crossing my fingers. It's funny, because the best run I have had since Canberra was the weekend afterwards and things got worse after that.

I guess you can't underestimate the damage a first time marathon effort can do. Theory - there is an inverse relationship between how many marathons you have done and how long it takes to recover.

I will really find out what kind of shape I am in at this weeks 10k race at North Head. This week is the one year aniversary of my first 10k race - I think I ran ~ 47 mins.

BTW...

I think its too early to write off your mojo just yet! :-) Try some cross-training perhaps to help get your legs feeling right without pounding them before they're ready.
