Adam arrives and SMH Half

Last saturday night at 10pm (20th) Adam John was born. It was a pretty tough day but a very rewarding finish, watching Anita giving birth to our first child. Although I am biased, I think you'll agree that he is pretty cute...

By the time evryone was cleaned up and in bed, I was in the car driving home at 2am - just 5 hours before the start of the SMH half marathon. I argued to and fro the whole way home whether or not I would run, and in the end sanity prevailed. After not sleeping for over 40 hours and being mentally drained I thought I would need the energy for subsequant days - and I probably wouldn't have run very well :-)

It was however, great to see inhisshadow get his first half marathon under is belt in 1:46 which is an excellent result and Caty run a PB of 1:41. Simon had a disappointing run, as his legs just don't seem to want to work after Canberra and Rachael was still sick and didn't run. It is a shame to DNS when it costs $65 to enter!

Anyway, I now have three weeks off work (yay) to hang out with the little one and may even start some proper training.

Biased or not, he is a little cutie! Congratulations to you and Mrs Hamburglar! Shame about missing the SMH Half, but goodluck in the training for Blackmores!
