I was going to post each week of the prep but alas...
Week ending 14 Feb
Mon: 10k around the city
Tues: 10k around the city
Wed: 10k including corporate cup in 24:55. A bit slower than last fortnight - the legs were feeling heavy.
Thurs: 14k run to work in 75 mins
Fri: An easy 5k at lunch and 5k race at Shelley in the evening. I ran a 19:41 which wasn't to bad. Nice evening with some coolrunners.
Sat: felt very tired so decided to leave the long run till Sunday
Sun: Got out the door but felt really tired. Struggled at 6 min k's for 3k before turning around and walking home - blah!
Total: 62k
Week Ending 21st Feb
Mon: Sick
Tues: Sick
Wed: 9k around the city
Thurs: 14k run to work in just under 70 mins - working hard with the fast boys (Richard Green, Jonathan Worswick and Ben)
Fri: 12k around the city with Walshy
Sat: 21k around the trails of Terry Hills with the fast boys. Some hilly terrain and was pushing it for just on 2 hours. Was going to do another hour when I got home but was spent.
Sun: 16k including 4 x 1k reps of Beacon Hill done in 8:17, 8:16, 8:30, 8:23 - feel like I am getting stronger on the hills
Total: 72k
Week Ending 28 February
Mon: 7k run from Spit Junction to work
Tues: 8k around the city
Wed: 10k around the city
Thur: 11k including 5k at Threshold (20:01)
Fri: 14 run to work in 67:30 with the fast boys - keep getting quicker.
Sat: 23k including 4 x 1k Beacon Hill reps - all done in ~8:30. Down in around 4:05.
Sun: day off
Total 73k
Week Ending 7 March
Mon: 8k around the city
Tues: 8k around the city
Wed: Corporate Cup in 23:50 - big improvement fro last fortnight. still 40 secs away from PB.
Thurs: Hard 11k hilly session to Bellevue Hill with Moh and Walshy. I am not sure if it was because of my hard run the day before, but they absolutely spanked me.
Fri: Rest
Sat: 10k race at North Head in 39:22. I did the first 3k in 11:25 and just hung onto 4 min k's after hat. Sub 50 tried to help me to sub 39 but it wasn't to be.
Sun: Rest
Total: 45k
The last 6 weeks have been: 100, 81, 62, 72, 73, 45.
