Week 5,6,7,8 and 9 of 12

Looks like I am a liitle behind. Things have been a bit busy and it has shown in the training. Very sporadic and not a whole lot of solid weeks. That being said I have had some good sessions and never to far from a run.

Week 5

56k including, corporate cup in 23:35 and SMH half in 83:53 - very happy. I had never been so tired. An absolute crazy 3 weeks before hand. I woke up and just wanted to go back to bed. I really thought I may desintergrate and not even break 90 mins. Started off at 4 min pace and just kept going. Was trying to keep Superflake in range but never saw him until the finish. Ran with IHS for the first 6 or 7k and Nando for the last 3 or 4. Love this race - might even be my favourite. Always seem to run well.

Week 6

Very busy week - only 43k total however included a 4 hour run, 28k run with Spud from St Ives to Mosman.

Week 7

Only two runs this week, but 69k total including 60k Manly to Palm Beach in 5:53. A 30 min PB. Was a terrible morning and another very busy week, so I was bit reluctant. I was planning to just run for a bit and turn around and go home, but the company was good in Sir Runalot and the rain eased, so I just kept going. really enjoyed the journey up and back. treally like this run. 5k splits were done in 26.34, 26.25, 26.27, 28.55, 29.43, 29.37, 33.34 (inc stop at half way 2:48), 29.24, 32.46, 26.59, 30.21 and 32.46. The last 5k was a lot tougher than the split shows. I was in a lot of trouble after finsihing - felt completely stuffed and was even a little sick in the evening. Good fun though.

Week 8

55k including a really hard 30k on Sunday. 7k @ 4:56, 5k @ 4:02, 7k @ 4:54, 5k @ 4:01, 6k @ 4:59. 30k in 2:19. Second hard 5k was hard but good. The last k was a big bonk as I had just water the whole run. Best run I have had in ages.

Week 9

A ggod week for once. Ran everyday including corporate cup in 23:35 (again) and an easy 30k on sarurday with Ben and Paul. 90k for the week.

3 weeks to go. Can I go sub 3? Don't know. The half was a big confidence booster, but the training just hasn't been there, however I have done some good sessions. Average weekly mileage for the 5 weeks has been 62k. Not heaps. Still a couple of weeks to cram.
