2 week update

Looking at my last post, I think I overdid it with that big week of traning as the week after I was extremely fatigued. I was planning a recovery week and I think my body took adbvantage of the fact. I was really busy at work as well as at home and just didn't get out on the road very much. This week has been a little better with lots of 8k runs, but I am still struggling to find time and energy as things are out of control at work and at home.

My training for the last 6 weeks has been geared up for 3 goals: 1) next week's 10k at northe head 2) the 5k challenge this week and 3) Sydney Half in 3 weeks time.I wanted to get 3 x PB's and then change the focus of my training for the rest of the year. I got the 5k PB this week (by 15 secs) so considering I could hardly get out of bed I was so tired it is a good sign that I can go sub 39 next week and sub 89 in three weeks.

Week 1

Wed - Spit Junction to work - 8k in 36:39 @ 4:40 (150)
Thurs - Gate to gate 1k reps done in 3:37 (168), 3:31 (178), 3:35 (179) & 3:40 (178)

Week 2

Mon - Spit Junction to work - 8k in 37:09 @ 5:05 (147)
Wed -Spit Junction to work - 8k in 36:45 @ 4:41 (150)
Thur - Around the City - 8k in 36:49 @ 4:45 (156)
Fri - Spit Junction to work - 8k in 35:13 @ 4:39 (155)
Sat - 5k CR Challange - 18:51 @ 3:46 (178) - 3:44, 3:47, 3:49, 3:45, 3:46 (nice even splits) with a 2k warm up and 5k cool down.

Good 5k PB! Sub-39 and 89 definitely on the cards.
