I really don't want to post anything but I am forcing myself. I can understand why people don't post when things aren't going great.
After starting to feel better early in the week, Wednesday's run with inhisshadow confirmed that I still wasn't 100%, so decided to back off for a few days. At the end of the week I was feeling average again - headache, really tired and mouth ulcers. Classic signs of a low immunity. Blood test this week to see what the hell is going on.
Sixfoot has moved from an all out tilt, to a more social event, to a cross your fingers to be there on the day, to a maybe I should contact Kevin and postpone my entry fee till 09'. We'll see.
P.S. bit embarrassing when you start quoting Mike Tyson, but I like it.

Sorry to ask a personal question but you aren't pregnant, are you? ;-P
So sorry to hear that you aren't back to 100% yet. Six Foot will always be there. Your no.1 priority right now should be to get your health back on track.
Take care & keep up with the Tyson quotes !
Just tried sending a comment and it went bust?
Hang in there mate, you will still have your base in 3 weeks time, rest up and remember I owe you a beer or two at the Caves House.
Mate,
This is getting a bit of a worry - I hope that with rest you will recover. On the ulcer front try an increase in your leafy greens the folic acid helps (ulcers can indicate deficiency in folic acid, but definitely prove low immune system), at worst your eating good food!
I'm going to force you to read the "hippy cleanse book" soon, after all we all know you aren't going to skip 6ft so you may as well do your best to boost your health and immunity before that, hope you're back soon buddy
Ignore inhisshadow! This isn't a worry at all. In fact, the only thing you have to worry about is worrying too much. Nothing makes you sicker faster than worrying (oh, except maybe some of the stuff you eat, but we'll leave that to one side for a moment... :-) )
Seriously, it takes a helluva long time to build up your endurance, and it takes a long time to lose it again. You mightn't be giving fats a run for his money this year, but you'll still be having plenty of fun. Now go and have a rest, eat your greens if that's what it takes, and smile. It'll be right :-)
Gnome (who's keeping his fingers crossed in spite of all the above!)
Don't get my sentiments wrong there Burglar, Gnome (worry may have been the worng word). I for one believe in the old adage "You know the sport of running is going well, when Hamburglar is going well" :) I too have fingers crossed & have lit a few candles, even for the purely selfish reaon that I miss my work running partner
Start your taper early :)
Try and be there (unless you're on your deathbed). You could always jog it with me. As Jen knows, there is something uniquely satisfying about just managing to hold off the 7 hour pacers.
