Felt better on Monday, so when Paul asked me to join him for an easy 30k through some hills around Manly Dam/Seaforth, I accepted. As the run progressed my general feeling of muscles soreness/achey flu type symptoms returned. I pulled the pin at 19k, not wanting to break anything. Went home and crashed out - obviously still sick.
I have now got a tummy bug! I have given in to my reluctance/stubeness to see a doc, however he doesn't have an appointment till tomorrow. It is the weirdest sickness. I feel like every day is like the day before you get the flu, but the flu never comes. A couple of people have had the same syptoms at work and the doctor couldn't find anything wrong. We shall see.
To say I'm grumpy is an understatement. Grrr.

It'll be a bugger having the rest of the week off work and not being able to run ;)
Sorry to hear that Chris but you did the right thing in listening to your body. Fingers crossed for a quick recovery. Better to get sick now than the day before Six Foot :-)
Mate, you must have broken a mirror while opening an umbrella indoors or something, you are having a rotten run. Rest rest rest rest and rest - be patient don't push back too quickly let your body recover and be realistic about your training. As you said you have battled sickness for what seems like most of last year, your body is telling you something listen to it! And as always if you want to try some of my new age hippy stuff you know where I am buddy!
Chris, go and read Jen's blog about the value of rest, and then rest, rest, rest. You'll be back soon enough (and no 30k runs as a comeback, OK??) :-)
Gnome
How frustrating, get well soon mate.
