Some LSD...

The aim of the game this morning was to train the fat burning system. My prefered method to train this system is a long run at slower than usual pace with little or no breakfast and only water throughout the run. Therefore I joined the 6am group (6:00 min/k pace).

It was the Bobbin Head revisted STAR, which I was keen to do as it went over part of the PMC course. I also wanted to test out running with a bum bag as I will need to run with one in PMC. The run went quite well, ran in parts with Dave, Roland, Darrell (who is also thinking of doing PMC, Barry Rutter and Ernst. Ernst is a South African who has done Comrades and was very intereseted in PMC. He lives on Bobbin Head Road and is keen to help out on the day.

The run was quite hilly (H4) and the last 5k were hard but not as hard as expected with an empty stomach. It was also quite chilly, especially down at Bobbin Head but the fog was great!

Finished the 31k in 2:59 at 5:50 with a low avg HR of 143. The bum bag was fine and allowed for a few photos as well - all in all mission accomplished! It is a pity that the 31k was more than half of my weekly k's!

The high quality day continued with a hot bath and a nanna nap, before we went to our friends place for a Lebanese 5 course feast - perfect!

nice piccies mate - these Plu-inspired runs have to happen more often for both of us given the scenery we run in!
