Thanks for everyone's nice comments. The legs are feeling pretty good and recovering well since the weekend. I have done three shorter runs this week which have felt good, however I will make sure that I have tomorow off and take it easy into next week. I have been eating like the real Hamburglar, which has been great fun but the time for celebrating might need to come to a close very soon.
Not sure what is next on the race front. Thinking of having a crack at Canberra or even pacing Alastair to ~ 3:25 and then going on to do the 50k? Or, I may be sensible and take it easy for a couple of weeks and then having a good preparation for SMH half and that bloody sub 40 10k. I will see how I feel in a week or so.
I have had a detailed look at the sixfoot results which show just how slow I started. If there were no waves...
I was coming:
303rd at Cox's
286th at the top of Pluvio and
200th at the finish
Only 3 guys with slower splits then me at Pluvio, finished in front of me. That means only three guys would have passed me after Pluvio and I would have passed 89 others. Wow. I will definitely have to pick up the pace a little (but not too much) next year down to the cox's. But the sub 2 hour final split was great, even with the slow final decent.
Has anyone seen Talladega Nights?
