Not much to report really. Last week was a pretty ho hum week running wise, enjoying some easier sessions, hamburgers and beer. 37k in total for the week. Not exactly Spud am I.
I took it easy at Corporate Cup (if there is such a thing) on wednesday for 26 mins. The last two k's were tough and I could definitely feel sixfoot as I ran up that long slow hill. I did have a nice run yesterday - 10k to fairy bower and back in 4:54 which was really pleasing as the HR was quite low throughout. I just can't believe that I am running these paces at average HR of 152. It wasn't long ago that a HR like this would see a pace of > 6:00.
I must say that I felt a liitle De Ja Vu today. With some definite chill in the air, all the tourists were gone from Manly and they again have left the beach for the runners! Manly is a great place in winter for a run and it looks like I will be getting down there a bit more often.
I did manage to get on the bike as well. Realising that it was the last week of daylight saving, I rushed home from work. Just as I got home it started to teem with rain - bugger. So out came the wind trainer, and off I went. I am not a big fan of the wind trainer. Even in front of the tele every minute feels like three and an hour feels like a day! I did manage to get through however, not before I lost apx 5 litres of sweat. What is the go with that? I better get used to the wind trainer though because now that daylight saving is finished, during the week, it's all I've got.
8 weeks to SMH and the official training program starts today. Looking at doing 2 speed sessions a week for 6 weeks to try a build on the base of six foot. The party is over!

I'll bet your legs have appreciated the rest. It must be a refreshing change to focus on a shorter event for the next couple of months.
Catch you on the weekend.
(sigh) - now THAT's a quality movie quote ;)
mate, I feel for you regarding the wind-trainer. There's really not a lot of appeal there is there?
Although you're getting back into another training program, it must be good to have some speed sessions back in amongst it (god, I miss them ...)
i Reckon quite few ppl post 6ft are having low km weeks....Ultra runners being an obvious and nutty exception!
